Thom Abraham


The Thom Abraham Show debuted in Avon, NY, a suburb of Rochester, in spring, 1998, on WYSL 1040-AM. The show was the station’s only locally hosted, long form talk show and rapidly built a loyal following. Thom also served as the color analyst for the Empire Sport Network’s ECAC College Football Game of the Week, and was a regular on the network’s Fan TV program specializing in College Football. He also appeared on NESN in New England as a college football analyst. In spring of 2001, The Thom Abraham Show moved to the Ft. Myers/Naples market on Sportsradio 770 ESPN. 


Thom took over a morning time slot that was drawing a listenership of just over 600. In six ratings periods, over 2 years, listenership grew to 1150, 3700, 6800, 8200 and finally over 11,000. Sales at the station doubled during this period. In Spring of 2004, the show moved to Huntsville, AL, on Sportsradio 730 WUMP and to afternoon drive. The Show once again experienced tremendous growth and has become a fixture on the Huntsville sports scene. In addition to the daily show, Thom also hosts the Gameday Tailgate Show on location with the Crimson Tide and has served as the Voice of the Tennessee Valley Vipers in the af2 and the Huntsville Havoc SPHL hockey team.


In July of 2007, the show moved to Nashville, TN on ESPN106.7 the FAN.  The show continues to be heard in Huntsville on Sportsradio 730 the UMP as well.


Thom’s background includes 11 years of coaching at the High School and College level. In high school, Thom earned 4 varsity letters in Football and Wrestling. After passing on an opportunity to play football at Ashland College in Ohio, Thom played one year of Hockey at St. John Fisher College in upstate New York, and spent one season on the school’s golf team.



Thom lives in Spring Hill, Tennessee with his wife Allyn and four of their nine children. In the spring of ‘08, Thom will become a grandfather thanks to Daughter Kristen and her husband, Alfonso who also reside in Spring Hill. Thom’s eldest daughter resides in Florida, and he has two daughter’s at UAH in Huntsville. Son Joe is a communications major at Alabama and spent a year as a student assistant on Nick Saban’s staff. Thom and Allyn's youngest children (sons Tom, Danny, and John, and daughter Grace) live at home.

Jonathan Shaffer


Jonathan Shaffer, a 7-year radio veteran including three years in Nashville, is one of the emerging young personalities in the Music City.


Shaffer, 26, has been with ESPN 106.7 The Fan since its inception on Dec. 23, 2004. Having worked in a variety of roles ranging from behind the scenes (producer, reporter) to on-air (SportsCenter updates, host), Shaffer is leaving his mark on the Nashville sports audience. He has been the assistant program director since Jan. 2, 2007.


An energetic and tireless worker, Shaffer is a contributor and producer for “The Thom Abraham Show”, the Fan’s newest drive-time show. He also hosts “Race Week”, a hour-long NASCAR show, “Football Friday Night”, a high school football scoreboard show and is the anchor for the Fan’s Tennessee Titans coverage, hosting the “Tailgate Show” and the “Pro Football Post-game Show” alongside former Titans president Jeff Diamond.


In addition, Shaffer hosts “Offense/Defense” featuring Titans Chris Brown and Chris Hope. In the fall of 2006, Shaffer was a co-host of “The Sports Guys”, along with Bob Bell, Boots Donnelly and Diamond.


A graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, he began his radio career in 2000 in Clarion, PA, becoming the operations manager/sports director for WWCH-AM and WCCR-FM in February 2004. He held the positions until relocating to Nashville in July 2004. 


During his tenure in Western Pennsylvania, Shaffer won a PAB (Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters) award in 2002 for production. He also served as the studio host and network producer for Clarion University football and high school sports coverage.


Shaffer’s experience extends beyond radio. His journalism career began in 1998 covering high school sports, and he was published in numerous newspapers in Western Pennsylvania and most recently, in the Tennessean. He is also a guest columnist for Center Ice magazine.


He is married (wife Jyl) and resides in Gallatin, Tenn.

Jeff Diamond


Jeff served as team president and COO of the Tennessee Titans from 1999 to 2004. During his tenure with the team, the Titans had an NFL-best 56-24 regular season record, reached the playoffs four times in the five years (winning two division titles) and won the AFC Championship and played in Super Bowl XXXIV in the 1999 season.


Prior to joining the Titans, Jeff spent 23 years with the Vikings in his native Minnesota, first joining the team in the public relations and operations areas and rising over the years to senior vice president of football operations where he was the team's general manager. The Vikings were a playoff team in six of the last seven years of Jeff's tenure (as well as winning the NFC Championship and playing in Super Bowl XI)


In March of 1999, Jeff was named the NFL's Executive of the Year by Sporting News after a vote of his front office peers around the NFL following the Vikings' 15-1 season in 1998.

Eytan “Rocky” Shander


Born in New York City and graduate of Gettysburg College, Rocky got his start working in Atlantic City, NJ in the promotions department. His first paid job was running a board for Cat Country! From there he managed to work his way into a producer and Co-Host for the PM Drive show on ESPN 1450. Its in AC where Rocky learned the tricks of the trade and was able to hone his skills as the crafty broadcaster/producer he has become today. After a year of working and commuting 100 miles a day, Rocky moved to ESPN 920 Philadelphia. In Philly, Rocky not only produced and anchored Sports Centers for the PM Drive show, he also was the talent coordinator and personally responsible for building relationships with media and sports teams in the city. After a year of producing and anchoring, he began to Co-Host a weekly 3 hour show designed to recap the highlights of local and national sports stories. After 3 years of intense sports talk radio, the logical move was made to Nashville to delve into the hot pressing political issues addressed daily on Supertalk WWTN. As the producer, sports reporter, and on air personality Rocky has become a staple on the AM Drive show and truly enjoys living in Nashville, or as he calls it "my permanent vacation". Every Titan home game Rocky serves as the locker room correspondent for ESPN 106.7 The Fan, tracking down the impact players for the Post-Game Show. He enjoys reading, watching the Simpsons and Law & Order, arguing about the latest headlines, and making a poor attempt to play the game of golf. Always in the "New York State of Mind" and has fully embraced the passion of the Nashville audience.
